No- because QB has a true cost of 100g which is a little less than 2.5 lane creeps. In addition to that it speeds up your farm if you do retreat to the jungle.
Unless you are a drow or WK who thanks to skills hit very hard early and you have 2 rockstar supports who make it a free lane for you, QB is always a good pickup
Queling blade isn't item to make you last hit better its mean't so you can jungle faster, ofc if you cant last hit without it always get it otherwise you loose loads of gold.
does quilling blade stuck with other quilling blades or only with talon? Answer: no (just checked)
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, its a great pickup for junglers and stacks with iron talon which worked quite well for Waga's smurf random WK pick which allowed him to jungle level 1 with no starting sustain, probably the only hero you can do that with, besides lifestealer maybe (needs random gold, of course). I was speaking mainly in regards with the laning phase, but yeah, considering it almost guarantees last hits, its worth it in that sense (didn't look at it that way). I was just pondering due to my nature of wanting to be as good as most pros, and was probably a result of the chain of thought that came after seeing EternalEnvy's solo matchup game in DAC where he went bassilius instead of wraith band resulting in an atrocious starting right-click damage on Shadow Fiend.
It also prevents your enemy from denying your creeps because you should be able to get last hits before they can deny it with all that extra damage. Its another reason to get it, especially in higher skill games, where the enemy will know how to deny properly.
It won't make you a retard unless you can't afford wasting slots
Buying it from the start is fucking retarded and I will not trust anyone who buys quelling from the get go
You should still be able to last hit without a qb if you need a qb to last hit in lane then you need to work on last hitting. Buying a qb is fine for most mele carries, especially those that are going to spend some time farming and not jump straight into fighting. But do make sure you can last hit without one.
^Normally i get it first if i play jungle or after picked the first rune , depend
i only rly think fast qb from sideshop is bad if ur clearly are in a lane where u need fast boot/oov for a kill or because the lanes super contested. usually buying qb quick is an effficiency thing because you will want to for NC later anyway and it makes u get more lh unless ur really in the zone
Picking up a QB also makes it easier to last hit under towers (perhaps playing against a Dark Seer); along with the formerly noted efficiency boost.

I'd like to know, as a safe lane carry, is it bad if I have to buy a quelling blade to get last hits and farm? Does it make me an amateur or mediocre player if I always have to? Even if I don't plan on upgrading to iron talon or battle fury later on? Considering the two scenarios where I'm in a contested lane/aggro trilane or an uncontested free-farm lane, when is it best to have one and is it at all possible to farm with average early-game right-click damage without one. Because 200 gold is quite a chunk from starting items and since the nerf, its really not that worth.
