I watched a YouTube tutorial on LD and it said that when chasing after someone, it's important to control the bear and not your hero. This is because despite the bear having high MS, it has a really big backlash, so each time it attacks it stops for a significant amount of time. So when you right click with the bear and it attacks, immediately control it so it will start moving again and you can get more hits. :)

Currently learning to micro myself. With LD I suggest using the "select all other units" hotkey, for me its bound to tab. You could also use control groups or unit specific hotkeys. It'll just take a lot of practice getting used to switching back and forth.

Bulldog made a rlly old ld tutorial. Its good for learning basic mechanics.

Play starcraft

i'm actually a diamond player in sc2 (equivalent to 5kish mmr in dota) but my micro on ld is mediocre
playing starcraft wont help too much since you need much more precise execution in dota

i was zerg diamond 1 in sc2 and my micro in dota is above the avg in my skill bracket, but its by no means good. its very different to control a few units to hundreds of them, you have much more room to make a few micro mistakes in sc2 IMO (i.e you can lose a ton of zerglings to a widow mine due to a mismicro, but normally it wont cost you the game, only if you do it over and over, while in dota one mismicro boom you're dead or boom you missed a game winning kill etc)

though i'd say diamond in sc2 is more like 3k in dota -- not that good since it means right now top 25% of the playerbase (bottom of diamond, which is the biggest league, if ure top in diamond its more like top 7-8% of player base - http://www.rankedftw.com/stats/leagues/1v1/#v=2&r=-2&sx=a)

My friend played sc and he said it rlly helped him with meepo. But i mean he is still only 2kish

tbh the control groups in dota are the worst shit ive ever seen, never managed to 100% get the grasp of it.

nonono i mean in terms of % of playerbase - diamond is the biggest league and sc2 ranks are heavily inflated after they introduced the race individual MMR, diamond is now 26 % of playerbase, like 3k is
