Killping and WTFast wont help. The reason for ping is the distance between servers. Sites like Killping/WTFast reduce ping by providing a more direct route between servers but SA and EU are so far apart that this is negligible. Additionally, those sites generally don't have many servers in Africa so they cant provide a more direct route to Europe in any case. The only way to really reduce your ping is to move closer to Europe.
If you join the ranked SA Dota channel you might be able to get enough people for a ranked game but otherwise you'll have to deal with the ping in EU. I'm also from SA and I haven't bothered to calibrate because I don't like playing with the delay in EU and finding a ranked game in SA is too much effort.
If you want a more competitive environment in SA and you cant find ranked games then get a group of friends and sign up to the Telkom DGL or a similar competition like that. I played in DGL a bit as a sub and it was fun. Planning on playing as a full teammember with my friends next year when I'll have more free time.

Recently I've started playing dota I little bit more competitively standing in for teams at scrims however I find that the competition in South Africa is horrible, there is no such thing as ranked matchmaking. I really want to try get an mmr. Before I got LP I was VHS and I want to try calibrate this account once I'm out. The only way to play ranked is on the European servers where I get 240-260 ping, do sites like killping and wtfast work. If not what else can I do to reduce my ping, or will I just have to deal with the delay.
