it's a very bad idea to start at very high mmr, since you're near the mmr limit it drops you down to 4k since you didn't play as expected

and you were expected to play better than the limit, which is literally impossible

so if you want to calibrate at 4.7 - 5k, don't start 4.7-5k

so tldr: this happened to me once, play worse in unranked so you start lower

the first calibration match is always played at your hidden mmr lvl even if its above 5k, the actual calibration starts since game 2

If you think your a real near 5k player, you can climb that mmr in no time. 4k+ mmr is still consider high for a smurf

normal players usually float in mid-high 4ks at that point

during calibration your first game you died 9 times with a horrible kda in a game where you lead by 40k gold. The system see this and put you lower.
