The problem is probably that you're on a mac. They usually have a lot more problems than Windows when running games. if its only when you go to the heroes tab and no other time I'd suggest verifying game files because it might just be a single game file that is corrupted. Also if you have a graphics card (Can you even put a graphics card in a mac? I honestly don't know. Apple is touch when it comes to upgrading or modifying their stuff) check that the drivers are up to date.
