u can also go 5 man with smthng like drums/mek (ppl do this a lot in comp dota). split pushing is not the only (and not the best) way to play NP.
Be careful about your positioning. Always watch the minimap and if you don't see that guy, even if he isn't actually coming for you, assume he is coming for you and be safe. They will probably be wasting at least 2 people's time by trying to gank you and if they fail, that's a huge loss for them.
