thats a weird question. you get higher mmr by being good. open some 8k player's stream and try to understand what separates you from him; it is the path you should follow when trying to improve.
you do not get higher mmr by doing some black magic with numbers and just blindly focusing on KDA, HD or whatever else. however, if you are good, you usually get decent stats just as a consequence of that.
Yes there is, if you calibrate at 1000mmr and maintain 100% win rate for 280 games getting 25mmr each game, youll be 8k mmr
Simples
@TripleSteal Thanks for the tips bro. I was just wondering if there is any formula for getting higher mmr, I guess not. Anyway, thanks for the discussion bro.
@smithsky So basically, valve give us 1000 mmr when we play our first game with new acc? and keep on calibrate with -25 or +25 every single game we play till TBD??
i think your initial hidden MMR is dependent on what option you pick at the start of game (played dota 2, played other RTS, newbie etc).
the first few games on the account can give much more than +-25 so it puts you in the correct bracket faster, it also protects a little bit from smurfing into low skill games.
but after x games, it should be similar to ranked with +-25 but just hidden
I'd imagine system for first few games is a little bit different, thats why they are hidding the mmr.
Something along the lines:
1st game they match you against 1k opponents, you win
2nd game, they give you 2k opponents you win again
3rd game you get 2.5k, you lost
4th game they will give you something in between, like 2,250 or back to 2k etc
Until they find where you actually belong, and from then on its +/- 25
This calibrating period would also depend on your stats, since they collect all the stats it would be easy for them to compare your healing/dmg/xpm etc against average performance of the same hero in the same bracket and see what your contribution to the win was - another reason to hide mmr, cuz everyone would be in tears, if they new system assessed them badly
Simple If you get very high skilled everytime you play in normal game you get 3.9k-4.5k mmr up.
I tired to create 2 accounts.
first account I get 3.9k after calibrating. (when i started playing dota 2)
the 2nd account I get 4.6k after calibrating.
win rate doesn't count I think but you need to win and own the game that means you should play carry always ( if you're good ).
I play and win game with 300+ last hit and 600-700 gpm/xpm per game.
but just enjoy playing MMR is just a number anyway you just pissed off if you get high MMR and lose back.
