in early 00s, the society here had a pretty, well, average distribution of political points of view. lets say we had 10% liberals, 10% conservatives and 80% of, uhm, ppl who were in between.
however, during the last 7-8 years, due to massive and constant propaganda on tv/internet (usually indirect one), the 80% of moderate votes were moved to the camp of conservatives.
so atm 1 out of conservatives is politically okay, has his own views, etc., while the other 9 are there cz they were forced to, and mostly do not even realize that.
that also influenced the attitude of the liberal 1/10 of society, cz now they see that most conservatives are, uhm, retarded, and feel free to assume that being conservative equals being politically blind, which in most cases turns out to be true. this effect, on the other hand, caused even greater tension in between the two groups, cz your average Soultrap supporting Putin and Co meets mostly either ppl who share his views, or those ones who act agressively towards him and consider him subhuman, which makes him believe that his pov is right. the element of constructive political confrontation is completely gone.

Threat them in this way, not the way some people with high feel of self-importance do. For sure, there are bad players in many ways, not only saying about their level of skill, but their behavior in matches and etc, but who cares? In many dota matches I often play with Europeans and Russians and many times we have fun playing together - jokes, humour, well-played statements, commendations, hearing the accents is pretty fun and amusing too. It's interesting how the thread turned into a heated debate about homosexuality, even tho I wanted to focus on how dota (And other online games) unites ppl who at times, hate each other. In my country, Pakistan, religion would deem homosexuality wrong, but I'm not into religion and I have no negative thoughts about it; the ppl who are into homosexuality, let them do watever they want, as long as they're not harming others (whether I'd find it acceptable in my future kids or matters of that sort - now that's a real thought-provoking and conflicting matter, to the pro-gay advocates here, I invite you to think about this)
Another thing I want to reflect on is this;
In many dota matches I often play with Europeans and Russians and many times we have fun playing together - jokes, humour, well-played statements, commendations, hearing the accents is pretty fun and amusing too. BUT. If these ppl knew I was playing from a Muslim country whose reputation IS SO TARNISHED the world over for women abuse, rape attacks and terrorist breeding centers would they interact differently? And not just from Pakistan, but any citizens of any Muslim country. We've been blacklisted by the west. The media has blinded ppl to believe we are some sort of insidious terrorists, the entire lot of us. I was watching the Shanghai major on youtube and if I'd glance on the comments section then after every 2 or 3 comments somthing like this would show up; "Muhammad was a paedophile" or "Muslim = terrorist" or "fuck u goat-fucker" since Muslims would be watching the stream. Now as I said, I'm not religious, so I don't give two fucks to what they say, but it does show the intense polarization in the world right now, the hatred.
And of course, then there's Trump. I'm glad u guys brought him up. He is the essence of all things racist, supremacist, elitist, fascist, neo-nazi, capitalist and everything that's wrong with the world. And, according to him if u ask him, all things American. And he's leading the polls in America. He wants to build a wall between America and Mexico. He wants to tag Muslims in America, and he wants to ban them from coming into the country. So there goes our only hope of ever getting out of this third-world shit-storm of a country where we worked hard throughout school and college in the dreams of landing a job in the west. That's right. It's a fucking break-neck competition out here for escaping the country. 2000 in the SAT and 320 in the GRE is fucking nothing here. Everybody's getting it, yet there are so many ppl here that still only a few of the best will manage to escape.
Anyway, online games like dota provide the only platform these days for the west and east to interact together, and I think its and interesting feature of this century and generation. It's a defining feature, and I think we can learn a lot by studying it.
I hope Kitrak can provide some thoughts on why Trump is so popular in America, I know wat the media says, just wanted to hear thoughts from the country's citizen himself

About religion.
Only the most stupid people will make jokes about religion. This is why mainstream reaction on Charlie Hebdo attack from Russia was "it's unacceptable to kill people, but they definitely provoked attackers". Muslim can't be terrorist, if he true muslim. I try to translate a quote from Koran: "killing one human - in the eyes of God is like killing all humanity". How can a person who believes in this be a terrorist?

@soultrap if u believe that gay ppl cause harm then, yes, he is. but i ask u, what "harm" do gay ppl cause to society, or to the economy? Despising gays is more of a cultural/religious thing /i believe, especially since abrahamic religions are against it.
As to ur latter statement about charlie hebdo, yes killing ppl is unacceptable. there is no "but". violence is not justified under any circumstances.

How many times I have to repeat this: gays causing no harm, gay propaganda does. If some guy f*cks with his boyfriend at home and there is mutual agreement on that - this is one thing. But if they organize a gay parade and show their passion on the street - this is another story.

Dota 2 only confirms my prejudices about people from certain regions. They are the worst people in society, and in DOTA.
