Don't play meepo and chen much but I set "Select my hero" to 1 and "Select all other units to 2" and "Select all units" to 3. I find this useful for micro, especially heroes like brood where you either want brood selected or all the spiderlings or both.
Your keybindings don't really matter so long as its comfortable to you and you can easily reach all the buttons you need. For example I set my item slots to Mouse1, Mouse2, x, c, v, t because I can reach all those buttons comfortably. They used to be on z, b and n but I found it awkward to reach those keys.
man thx. i was also doing the same for meepo. I mostly go asdf and try to set it well. I think that way is confortable for me cause I tried other ways but I mostly go back to the normal setting. this is not my real account but I apreciate it man :)
