^^I calibrated as soon as I could and got 1k.... my friends got 500. That was 2 years ago, my friends solo is still 900.
now.
the speed of advabnce in NMM at this point is the same as in RMM, u want gain anything out of delaying ur calibration. however, u wont be able to track ur progress in unranked, which is not nice; not to mention that ppl in NMM do not tryhard that much = you will learn slower.
If you make a smurf and you don't hit 4k+ you should just stop smurfing and go back to your 2k main.
Just go the calibration games now. U'v got hs/vhs games both so u'r close to 3700 if that's what u want
Just play whenever you want to. If you are good then you will be placed at somewhere you belong to. You can improve mmr later if it bothers you
^ You are probably 2k on main so it's not okay, you'll ruin other people games because you will get shit on.
You just started to play dota2 yet you know which items to buy on every single hero etc..?
You're probably 2k-2.5k mmr on main so u decided to make a smurf because ''ur team'' is holding you back.
you cant go 25 something on tinker when u start dota, when i started i used to buy slippers of agility instead of boots

Guys, I've been stuck on 2.5k for a long time... than I made a smurf and everyone said: ' you're gonna land on 2k u fucking scrub dont ruin games plox' and I calibrated on 4k and now I'm 4.4.... It is really hard to get out of 2k (or wahtver mmr) only because you need to have at least 40 games more won than lost and you don't achieve it that fast...
@ triple
you advance faster in normal than you do in ranked.
ranked you get +/-25 every game.
normal you get something else, probably a lot more if you keep winning.
proof: smurf that i bought at 1.5k... normal queue is already like 4.5k (probably only played like 15 games), ranked is still at 2.3k (probably like 80 games here) (obviously)
*note* this account had like 600 games on it before i bought it, so its not just smurf detection at work, it actually will move you faster in normal queue.
you get more if you progress faster that the speed of light, or are a hjigher rated player originally. supposing that you are a mere mortal , it makes no difference
^ it wasn't a new account though, when i got it, it already had ~600 games on it, so its not just smurf detection.
You should calibrate asap, you won't increase your mmr anyway if you're bad or you blame teammates
If you don't think you can calibrate to 4K or higher on your first try with a smurf, smurfing seems pointless, to me anyways. Not to mention I hate smurfs like you. O_O gerjgerghbraehbgeruk
I have the same question, recently unlocked ranked.
Should I start calibrating asap?
But I'm currently really confused, i play good in NMM, good XPMGPM, KDA, Teleports, all the stuff, i still get placed in "Normal Skill" bracket.
I'm trying desperately to go to HS or VHS before calibrating.
I'm open to any sort of help/suggestions. If you're a retard whos here to spam "if you deserve 2k you'll end up in 2k. or you are forever 2k" bullshit, please dont waste your in time in posting that.
Thanks.
"But I'm currently really confused, i play good in NMM, good XPMGPM, KDA, Teleports, all the stuff, i still get placed in "Normal Skill" "
Shit xpm, gpm and horrible kda with every hero
calibration depends on your first 50 or so games which will place you according to your performance to a hidden mmr range, during calibration you can regain probs 500 or so mmr.from what i can see,you fucked up your first 50 or so matches,so not much i can do for you
Yeah I learnt that, my younger brother used to play the games first on this ID, and his play style is "i dont give a shit whats happening" thats why the first most important games are fucked up.
what would you suggest, should i keep playing NORMAL for now and try my best to up my kda xpm gpm and try to perform better, as to raise my hidden mmr until i increase in skill bracket and then go for calibration, or should i just start calibrating?
