Well i got vouched in PGL( the league in my country where good players used to play 1.6, like FPL in dota) at age of 15, i think i was the second youngest player who got vouched, tho, i never had a team.
then i suppose u were quite good, probably one league behind me. given that, some of your statements look rather weird to me cz they are far from what the 1.6 mechanics and community really were.
however, it might vary across countries, too, because 1.6 was incredibly popular in russia (where i live), and there were a lot of actually decent players, unless u went for pub games 24/7.
i doubt you were better than me since you are MGE apparently, but hey, times change and anyway transition to CSGO wasn't the easiest thing for me either

ESL, was in several top 10 ladders, played cups, paced #1 - #5 in 1on1 ladders :D
Playzeek, black colored, won couple cups, never played ladder
T-esp/Dslash: #1 in almost all 1v1 ladders, won several cups and a couple of 5n5 ladders as well.
So my esport experience is a tad bit better than urs Dx

1.6 died so many years ago that barely any1 managed to keep his skill nowadays
i abgandoned the game in late 2008, i think. at that point i switched to wc3/dota completely.

I played against male attax and mouz squad. 14:16 lost to mouz, lost 8 : 16 to attax.
