NORMAL Skill vs HIGH Skill?? in General Discussion
Mr.Beer

So Dotabuff tells me i live in NORMAL skill and i'm not sure how it progresses you into higher brackets. Is it based on the same type of calibration for MMR?? (which i'm still not 100% how that happens). I have above 50% win rate and thought this would help.

u have 54% winrate which means u belong in this bracket. Work hard and improve thyself to surpass and bring yourself to high skill bracket.

but he aint a smurf (and neither am i) and his overall profile does fit normal skill although i cant tell what mmr he is to be precise. Hell i dont even know mine. All i know is that i am at high skill bracket but no clue what mmr range is that

Why do you wanna rush it? Anything above 4k is a fucking tryhard fest where everyone whines at each other

So enjoy the ride until you get there

haha fair enough, I just feel like it would be a bit of an improvement especially in positive teamwork/communication. At the moment my solo MMR is 2.9K but i don't really prioritise ranked games (although i should).

              TripleSteal-

skill bracket just reflects ur mmr. the barriers are approximated and also fluctuating a bit over time
                0-3200 - normal skill
                3200-3700 - high
                3700+ - very high

Just keep winning the game .. i win almost 70% of the 100 games i played in normal bracket to reach from normal to high bracket. Now, i'm losing some high bracket games and paused a few days to watch my replay and video from youtube to understand how high mmr player plays certain hero and item choice.

Yeah, I'm also lacking experience in the amount of games i've played, but i watch a lot more Dota than i play so i feel like my mindset is good and i know good communication is key. I'm just curious to know if communication gets better the higher your skill bracket or if it just varies totally no matter where you are :/

for normal and high bracket games, theres no different :
Most of the games i played either :
5players chooses carries or they have no idea what item they are building.

The last few games i played in high bracket: all 5 chooses support and no carries.
Or they chose very low impact hero + flame wars

for the first account i have in very high bracket :
it varies but i mainly plays support for the 1st account .
until this smurf acc , i learn to play a mix of core + support

around 3250, you'll start getting high skill games, then once you hit 3.3, all of your games will be pretty much high skill, 3200 is like that borderline where sometimes they'll be high skill, sometimes they won't.

When I got to 3650, I got my first very high skill game, but not all of them would VHS, cause sometimes i'd drop to 3610, and be back in high skill, but when i was 3630, i had a VHS, so at 3.7 and higher is when I always showed up as VHS.

Q.Q I tilted, so VHS is just a dream right now, just a memory. Wahhh'

4k is just as toxic as 2k.
