Tilting is very common
Depends both on your luck and your attitude
You need to buy lots of hats to get good win streaks
If you stop buying hats then you tilt the other way

You know, after a winning(loosing) streaking, you only have 1/2 chance of not having a loosing(winning) streak (considering a perfectly balanced matchmaking)
Launch a change 50 times, and check the streak it does, you'll basically will have the same result. (well actually with the change you'll have less streak, cause no tilting -loosing streak increase- and no recover from tilt -winning streak increase-)
Lets say you are playing accordingly to your mmr. Then you get lucky and you're playing a bit better then usual and you gain 200 mmr in 2 days and next day you have a bad day, a bit of tilt, maybe bad luck with teammates and you drop back to the begining.
IF you're actually better then your rating indicates you will get win streaks and when the losing streak comes you just wont drop back down in case you get really unlucky with teammates. Shorter losing streaks then wining streaks only mean you're progressing. It's that simple.
