    Hi guys,

    I'm looking for a software to record replays or some gameplays but I'm quite noob and I can't find something good. Tried camstudio but every time I start recording Dota is just unplayable and the video quality is shit, even with some good codecs.

    Fraps is a simple one, but I wasn't able to find something about their size, a fucking minute it's like a GB ... that's crazy. But another crazy thing is that fraps can deal with recording like god, 60fps full hd and my pc or Dota are not affected at all while recording, but the size is so crazy that I can't use this shit.

    Tried startmovie with the console but Dota is unplayable when I put that shit.

    Someone can guide me? something like low size and high quality would be great, if it's free better! but I don't have problems to buy some software if it's good.

    Thanks for your time.

        pay:
        dxtory, fraps, bandicam

        free:
        MSI afterburner, OBS

        also, the reason why fraps videos are so big is because it records it and doesn't compress it, meaning the quality is high. After you recorded with fraps you should use a program like vegas to render it with h.264 codec to a much smaller size.

        u're welcum.

                I'm trying OBS now, looks good. I were able to record something while playing but I lost some FPS, is that normal? I've some decent pc to fucking record at 60fps while playing, I can do it with fraps and my game is still 60 fps with no drop at all, so I don't know what's the problem with the rest.

                Blunt I know about that, but if I want to record a game about 50 minutes it will take a lot of gigas and then I'll need to wait for ever to compress that shit, at least I think so.

                Also I'm recording at 30fps, should i change it to 60? don't know if google accept that, I see a lot of comments about youtube only at 30 fps.

                Thanks for the recomendations guys, really appreciate.

                PD: OBS it's good but tried every config possible but there is a problem everywhere for me, fps problem, not high quality, etc. Fraps do a perfect job, really full hd and 60fps, looking a video from fraps it's like playing my own Dota2 full hd. With OBS the best quality I was able to find after testing a lot was something near 720p with issues inside Dota or in the video .... but obviously, the big difference is that OBS video is about 50mb while fraps is 1GB just 30 fucking seconds. Don't know why is so hard to do it with OBS, maybe I'm just stupid because people say that is great.

                          @Smallforward:
                          It's normal, because unlike Fraps OBS does convert the file while recording to make the size much smaller. So if your PC can't handle OBS that only means you need to record with fraps and render with windows movie maker or something similair.

                            Can you tell me your config for OBS? maybe I did something wrong.
