It used to be (kills+assists)/deaths for each game and then take the average of the kdas in all of the games. Now they just summarize all the deaths, kills and assists instead of handling each game individually.
For an instance: http://www.dotabuff.com/players/235326031/heroes?metric=impact
Leshrac kda = (27+25)/6= 10.33
The problem with threating each game individually is if you have only played one game and not died a single time, then they have to add 1 death. If you for an instance have played two games, where you have died zero times in one of the games and once in the other there might be different kda's.
If you summarize the deaths, like in the metric impact thing, you will end up with 1 death on average, but if you take the average amount of deaths for each game you will end up with your deaths divided on the amount of games: (0+1)/2 = 0.5 deaths on average instead of 1.
Basically hero kills and assist then your deaths.
Always aim for high KDAs the smart way man, and that will get u wins, hopefully.
