no clue i don't play on south africa
generally the servers that have a lower player pool (us west, russia, south america) have a lower average skill level
it is impossible to compare them without having them compete but ping issues.
But on general, bigger pool of serious players = higher skill gap
So regions that are considered small like Dubai, SA and Russia(funny how Russia is so big but so little dota players) tend to be of poorer quality
I feel like good Russian players play on EU
And by Russian I mean Ukrainian
and by Ukrainian I mean Dendi
afaik russians once they reach ~4k mmr usually move to EU and play there for the rest of their lifes, but russian server is still overpopulated with noobs.
i heard that people from chinese server are usually stronger than those ones coming from the rest of the world, for same mmr lvl.
I mean I have noticed pretty often you will find foreigners playing on the South African server (Especially on Ranked) as I guess it is perceived as easier. The EU west server has a massive amount of russian (CIS region) players, like 2-4 every game I'd say, and they are fine. Most speak english and play decently, just wonder why they don't play on their server.
Makes sense what you have said though, bigger pool, more skilled players.
I have both RU and EUW selected when I solo-q, and I don't notice any difference betwen the two in terms of game quality, but I get more games on EUW (something like 2/3 of all) so it's fair to assume that's it's more populated.
South American servers have to be about a 1k mmr decline from us.
Is a guy that posts here a lot and watching his VHS games are just sad and embarrassing.

Firstly I'm really average, my MMR currently is 3354 and been played ranked pretty steady for about a week now. I was not playing it before because I am from South Africa and thus play on the South African server. I have brought up the point previously and the South African dota community has gotten slightly better at trying to search ranked but you can wait from anything between 10-30 minutes to find a local ranked game and usually closer to the later.
Because of this and because I have wanted to play ranked more consistently I have been searching South Africa (30 to 60 ping) and EU West (With 150 - 200 ping). My last 10 or more games have been EU west and Ive just accepted it easier and much faster. You get used to the ping and dont even notice it so much anymore.
Ok onto my question: So On the SA server I play pretty regularly at very high skill on normal matchmaking and do fine, 3800 MMR and up generally if I am correct. I usually own High skill and destroy normal if I stack with my mates who's MMR is lower. What I have noticed is that ranked EU at high skill is basically the same level as Very on SA server. So is the SA server that bad? I feel like the value is close to 500 MMR, so 3800 on SA server is equivalent to 3300 on EU west? Is that a reasonable assumption? Do any of you guys go between servers and also notice a difference?
