Why would you spend $80 on a 730??? By an older series top end it will be a lot better performing....

Try a 570 or something similar, a 660 perhaps. The top end of the last gen or two will usually be better than the low end of a new gen.

          i just bought a 980

I had to settle for a 970 cause I have a smaller system http://www.asus.com/uk/Graphics_Cards/GTX970DCMOC4GD5/ still pretty sweet to get that much power on such a small unit. Runs decently cool as well.

980 doesnt look that good to me. for gaming i would rather go 970, and keep the rest. and 780 ti for 3d stuff. it has pretty big band width(220 something on 980 vs 340 on 780ti)

off topic but ironically to play most games on max settings, mid-end rigs do the job.

i swear whenever i see people waving their $3000 desktops or sometimes even $2000, its a huge waste for just e-peen.

im doing fine with a 400$. i can run all the titles on medium to high. (g3220 + 260x). a little bit better gpu would do perfect (270x/750 ti idk) anything above i5+ gtx 970 seems useless to me. (gaming only).

until 1 year ago i used to play dota 1 on 1,8ghz single core, 512mb ram and 64mb gpu. 2003 pc

the biggest throw ive seen was a dude with x99 socket + 64gb ddr4 for gaming only. i think that beast was almost 4000$ or somewhere there...

you could put entire dragon age inqusition on a ram drive though! lol

i play in 1440p dual monitor and i had serious frame drop issues with the 970

when i reached out to evga they offered to up it to the 980 if i paid the difference which i did
