Cant seem to get out 2k bracket, whether my support game is on point, ward placement, or just snowballing the first 15-20 minutes. Always the team chokes and fucks it up esp with the comeback mechanic. Is it just me or is my luck that terrible??? I'm not great nor do I claim to be but really need some helpful tips, perhaps something I'm overlooking comp wise?

if you have trouble snowballing in 2k, you have some problem. I did it with ease 24/7.
It would also help if you had snowballing heroes. Supports don't win in the 2k games. Snowballing does.

      Hopeless

first off, dont play CM in 2k

        Easy_Bot

Just make a new account and there you got 3k mmr

          Raging SiM

I get the whole support cant carry transition but these dudes always pick carries every time, redundant ones too,

            Easy_Bot

Stop picking supports in 2k you will lose never trust your carries. Pick strong independant heroes like ta, timber etc razor, drow

:-/ I also need to stop playing support heroes... even though I feel better with them, I cannot follow through on matches relying on others in the team. Another thing I noticed is that if I play spirit breaker, when I get vision on a hero that's lurking on the woods and I charge, the others seem oblivious and don't covers to get the kills and then proceeds to team fight and loose. sounds like a tough time playing in a place where you can learn a few points to better your game, but progress is quite dependable on the other 4 you play with. hmm, need to find consistent team mates!

                6_din_49

Surprisingly, when playing with my 1500 mmr friends I have higher impact as support then as carry.

Basically if I play mid/carry I do whatever I want in laning stage (3700 mmr vs some 2400) but my team lose the other lanes badly, which is normal because they are 2 x 1500 laning against 2 x 2400. If I play support we win at least 2 lanes because we win my lane by default and one other lane because I tp when enemies dive towers.

pick heroes that are farm independent at the start of the game - there's plenty of farm available later on at 2k and realistically, it isn't like you or your team mate are able to rack up 80cs in 10mins anyway...

for example, omni. you only need soul ring and brown boots at 10mins. then you can easily clear creeps with your healbomb and farm up an aghs by 25min whilst still keeping your team alive. is hard for your team to proceed to throw at that point.

i actually think cm is pretty good at 2k btw. just don't play hard support. get a blink and team fights are chaos.

other heroes in a similar vein: warlock (really just needs his ulti), visage(ulti again - medallion is cheap and nice and acheivable with no last hits), abaddon (doesn't need anything) , spirit breaker (gank early and farm heroes not creeps)

all these heroes obviously are better with farm. but if you have no last hits at 10mins with them, it isn't a major issue.

this is advice for 2k - not for high/very high!

                      have you try picking silencer?

                      Raging SiM

I have as support silencer, i'm kinda just circling around these heroes atm, cm/venge/drow/bb/bs/tree/

                        Electabruce420

im having a lot of succes supporting in around 2.9k with lion and jakiro, with lion just save your teammates when they get out of position and counter gank, and with jakiro push like hell... CM is not very good since you rely totally on your carries, witch doctor is good too, heal is awesome and maledict is perfect against tanky heroes.

I post this everywhere. Copy Pasta

-Always be doing something. No matter what role, you should always be doing something. Farming, ganking, getting runes, warding, pushing, roshing, healing, baiting, stacking. Literally the only time you should be doing nothing is if your trapped in you base or if you're sitting behind your farmer. There may be a couple more situations, but thats all I can think of.

-Watch replays. You can see if your instincts were correct. Could you have prevented a death from an obvious gank? Could you have seen the gank on the minimap? Did you need more ward coverage? It's good to know what the fog/day-night effect has. Watch yourself in a team fight from your perspective. Were you tunnel visioned? Should you have gone after another target? Game sense is hard to learn, but it can be reviewed and improved by rewatching fights at all speeds and angles.

-Watch streams, not of the pros though. When pros play pub it's a very different situation. Maybe someone who's 1k higher than your current mmr. Watch how they play, what they're looking at, their item choices, their game decisions, how they farm, how they use their skills.

-Understand the game. Know when to push. Know when to fight. Know when you have to force the game to end. Know when you can stall out and farm. Know when to rosh. It's hard to know what's right, and it's even harder to force teammates to agree with you, but do what you can to force the game it should be played. This is probably the root of why people are so mad at each other, but try to understand what should be accomplished instead of aimlessly going through the motions without knowing whats coming next.

-Never blame your team. Not really, games have definitely been lost because of your teammates. Don't break into the habit of blaming teammates every time you lose. There are almost always something you could have done better yourself, even if you still would have lost. You'll win your share of games because of bad play on the other side as well. Just focus on yourself and what you could have done better to succeed.

the last one is quite funny tho, had a team just now pick luna/lina/riki/pa while i was first pick wd, little to say the game was steamrolled so fast with everyone being squishy.

                                Bean

If you think your lineup is rubbish with only right clickers then you either go brain dead and pick whatever hero you like (for me this is when I start thinking of getting heroes like axe) or you go with heroes who can create a lot of mess like warlock or dark seer. You have to be behind your allies most of the time for this to work though.

                                  U wot m8?

                                    pick ursa
                                    go jungle till lvl 5
                                    kill rosh
push and take down one tower while you got agies
get few kills if you can
complete your vlads + phase boots
finish off blink dagger in jungle ( just ignore every one while you doing it )

after you get blink at 15-20 min mark you can blink and kill any hero and take down towers

finish off your skull basher n bkb and its gg

Pretty useful tips with little sarcasm aside, much appreciated. I def did overlook dark seer being beneficial to a stack melee comp on my team. I don't have much experience with ursa but i doubt it would take long, kinda easy dives esp with blink in hand and good push potential.

                                      amarin1492

U wot m8 is right. Ursa completely stomps the 2k-3k bracket.

                                        Dune, the Desert Planet

Your winrate as Scourge is low, and I find that weird cause your top 5 heroes are Roshan slayers. Exploit that. Just ping Rosh and write "go Roshan", smoke up before going in. Spam Liquid Fire, Wave, Amplify Damage, drop Serpents and Focus Fire Roshan.

Learn about magic bush as well (place in Sentinel jungle that if warded blocks small and big camp). Very useful at crippling enemy jungler.
