Show me video settings from dota client if you can.

go to setting>video/audio>advance then change the game screen render quality until it only lags a little or you dont experience any lag at all. and btw 2gb ddr is not enough for dota 2, you need at least 4gb to not experience any lag unless you ahve a poor internet connection or valve problem.

Your fps is lagging maybe because you need to turn off some advanced settings like shader, render quality etc

Actually, I only experience this shitty lag last week until now, I've been playing dota 2 for 1 year already and I tried to reformat my computer already awhile ago and I re-download the dota 2 already and I play today and it's still lag I don't know why. For the last 12 months I never experience this lag just last week. Help me pls. :(

Have you tried clearing your hero guides folderr? That shit normally works for me. I have no idea where they come from but I clear it once every few months.

change the texture to mid and lower your game screen render quality a bit. post back here if you still experience a lot of lags.

he already refomatted his pc which means all data from that folder have been erased.

Guides are tied to steam. If you re-downloaded dota, they're there.

C drive > Program files > Steam > Common > dota 2 beta > dota > guides > Work shop.

You literally need none of those folders. They're all with random numbers and shit. Saps up ram and loading time.

You also need to exit steam before you delete. Then delete, and reload steam.

Non compressed update from server is probably doing it, i seem to remember there was a way to disable it happening. Also keep in mind with the game open you're running at 90% on your memory which is leaving you about 300 MB of ram which will easily get used in peak and leave you constantly lagging as it struggles to get you the space allocated.

Are you running the memory in dual channel? Can you get more memory if you needed it?

@Havoc, I'm experiencing this lag ever since the Shifting Snows Update it was like 600 MB update and that's when the lag started. So I'm probably guessing now that the Shifting Snow Update is the reason why I'm lagging. I'll also try to find atleast 4 GB Memory planning to buy like after the 2014.

Yeah that's it imho. Uncompressed update is whack. There's like a 200 page thread on dotadev about it.

Go dig through this and try all the solutions people found. I had to try 2-3 before I found what caused my issue last year.

Try setting your network quality to low, cause then it doesn't do the uncompressed update shit.

Yeah and shift through the link melody gave you cause i am unsure it's a one size fits all solution and you may have to tinker with a few.

put all graphics/render/shadows/shit as low as possible. if it doesnt change anything, you might wanna reformat and clean your pc case. it might be full of dust => overheating the gpu (which isnt great btw. you should get a 260x at 100$ if the powersupply allows it)

if all things on low change anything, and youre playing on full hd screen, gz, you need a better gpu.

@I'M MID | FUCK OFF NOOBS, I'm using this pc for almost 2 years already and I've been playing DotA 2 for 1 year with this desktop and the lag only started when the Shifting Snow Updated, until now its lag. if you dont want to reformat, try other games (crysis 3, hitman abs, ac4 etc) and see if the lag is dota relatated or it happens in every game.

if its dota relatated, just delete entire steam thingie and reinstall dota.

dont download any ram dude.

if not just unistall steam... and reinstall it again with the dotas ;(

Actually the game that I'm only lag is the Dota 2. I try to play Assassins Creed, COD, NFS. It's not lag just the dota 2 dunno why. >.<

delete and full reinstall d2. if it still doesnt work, w8 for this patch to change. should be over after holydays. this white screen shit is annoying anyway.

It tried to update all my drivers already didn't work. Already re-install the Dota 2 still no change. Fuck this shit. Gonna wait for this shitty update to finish.

I have no issue and im playing on Nvidia 330m on macbook pro using bootcamp windows 8.1 pro and dota2 is installed on the usb hardrive (on low settings). Works better than native mac version of dota on ssd, the irony :). Must be something wrong with you computer. Maybe network drivers?
