People make a big deal out of this, but the reality is most of the stuff that was dropping you can get for $0.03 cents on the market.
no items dropped for me either. as concede said though most items dropped are 0.03$ on the market so it does not really matter.
My friend just got an alchemist set last night (a rare one).
But other than that, I haven't seen a drop since I came back to doto 2 weeks ago.
With the level up box every 5 levels you could get around 0.5 euro item which was pretty cool.
Zero items since the patch like 2 months ago(?). I mean it was most of the time useless shit but hey, at least you got something...
i witnessed a Shadow fiend arcana drop and an alchemist set. Other than that, nothing dropped to nobody in my games.
Its to drive up the price of items. Right now, if you REALLY want items, go shell out a quarter and get a whole set.
drops are time based now, also u get sets not random items like before. i got a set but it really took a long time.

Are the players not spending enough money for the shop already, it seems impossible to get any items now. Or did they simply removed the feature, feels like it.
