Mason played better than PPD and Artour and arguably Zai at TI.
Guy might be an "unsavory" character, but strictly speaking in regards to skill, mason was not the problem. PPD's leadership and drafting is what lost EG TI4.
Their last game speaks to how drafting and leadership lost EG TI. PPD gave each player a hero that another player on the team was better at.

a sub 3k mmr player who never touched ranked after calibration and plays bot matches only claiming what draft and who played best
@dorkly - Zai had a number of very bad starts and mess ups. In particular the last game EG played, he had to once again "ghetto" jungle as he puts it, but he screwed up and stacked the ancients with enigma and wasn't able to clear them effectively. He was dreadfully under-leveled.
@wave - While the calibration period on your accounts might be longer than 10 games, for the rest of us it is only ten games.
@blunt - he had many good games on other heroes. His Storm Spirit game in particular was very well played.
wasnt rly mason's fault... ppd fucked up the games much like how s4 and puppey did so GG
let's see, that 1 game where mason was told to play safelane SK.... he straight up lost that game for EG
the several games he was told to play brewmaster? opposing team rubick either stole his ult EVERY... SINGLE... FIGHT.... or he just get doomed and never get it off.......
his storm and mirana were top notch, no complains there. his weaver is alright, nothing amazing... basically farm farm midas farm farm team fight at 40min and win game.
overall mason is a decent player, but he really needs to expand his hero pool and learn how to play the key heroes in the current meta (razor, void, BREWMASTER, etc)
to me, mirana and storm was pretty much LAST patch meta...
why is he mad. i thought the agreement was that he was only going to stand in for fear until after ti4.
Probably just because they met behind his back. I get pretty pissed when people can't straight up talk to me about something either.

Mason's role definitely clashes with RTZ's role. EG allocated all resources to ensure RTZ gets protection and farm and still expect mason to "carry" is kinda absurd though. Its just like DK allocating all resources to burning, leave mushi to die on his own and still expect mushi to do well. Same for iG ,protect 430 whole game n let Luo/Xi die.
what mason said is correct, he performed 2nd best in EG during Ti4, better than RTZ, first of course is Universe that guy is just godlike.
There is definitely room for mason to improve and increase his limited hero pools unfortunately EG did not see that.
