Not a great deal, originally it was based off your hidden MMR which could have you under-calibrated or inflated depending on the strength of your stack and the players you were with. After that it seems to have started assigning you a base of 3500 and working you up/down from there.
It is my understanding that for new accounts the success of your initial games do not have a great deal of bearing on the rating you're given at the end as most people have worked out that win rate and stuff doesn't matter as you can just pick zeus for 10 games , lose them all, and then get about 5.3-5.5 which is the max you can get anyways.
umm, I'm a little bit confused..why should ppl pick zeus, because it provide the highest hero dmg which matters a lot?
I have played 4 games on my smurf(all on qop, and i won all of them) and my KDA is 12 something, is that actually not good for my initial mmr?
Altaoda has calibrated way over 5.1k several times when playing on other peoples smurfs and accounts...
Some of the accounts was in the "normal bracket" the first game, but he still managed to increase the mmr up during the 10 games

i had a 40% win rate when i was done with calibration, and got calibrated to 4200.
people have calibrated to 5300+.
i think it's heavily based off hero damage. even though i lost a majority of my games, it could still tell i was the only one actually doing anything, so there you go. tl;dr pick tinker.
yea, while i saw altaoda streamming he always picked heroes like fenix and zeus which all can deal lots of hero dmg
The "calibration" that the ranked match making has is a sham. It means nothing short of +25 or -25 MMR from what your hidden Matchmaking MMR currently is. If you wanted a high MMR smurf right off the bat you get your GPM and XPM high as shit and do as much hero damage as possible WITHOUT dying. This will set off the smurf detector and it will place the account in a higher bracket (as it should). Conveniently I had someone gaming the system my last match for you to inspect the inner workings of how it's done.

The Invoker and Tusk are the same guy. Both their pings were nearly identical (100+ more than every other player) and if you watch the camera it's so glaringly obvious you'd have to be stunned in the head not to notice. When Invoker does a few games like this he'll get placed in with the high 4k low 5k crowd and then wait until level 13 before he can calibrate it and sell it.

I switch over to my so called smurf played abt 200 unranked before going to ranked. Played most of my games in 4.8-5k bracket and calibrated at 5002. If u see my dotabuff stats, i carried most of my games. I obviously nvr ruin any games. And no i didnt play zues.
My point is? Stop generalising all smurfs as ruiners. Because the fact is there are ruiners even on accounts with 1k over games.
On a side note look at those abandon on my main, so now which is a greater ruiner? My smurf or my main?
