I am also the only child that my parents had so i was raised alone but still ponies are for little kids, and you may be somewhat immature(more than less) if you still play with those things(assuming you're not 8 anymore)

Don't believe me? As an anime watcher, I can spot fanservice a mile away. If I have to watch that show and keep seeing ponies rear ends in refrences to "Adult Material" I'm gonna vomit.

Son, it is unwise to bring up Chinese cartoon porn as an argument in a discussion with a person who have list of favorites bigger than most people's "viewed" list.
But just for your interest, the whole "Dat plot" thing started back then in Season 1. That's not a fanservice - just an animation style multiplied by human factor.
MLP does have its own fanservice, but it's the different kind of it. And, in most cases, you need to be a part of community, to understand it.
Target audience is all the same through all four seasons, but starting with season two, DHX (the animation studio) started to take in account older audience. Again, slightly different from what you think.
Older girls audience were primarily targeted by the movie "Equestria Girls", which was oriented at middle/high school age.
I do agree that show tries to appeal to viewers of all ages, but that doesn't changes the target audience.
And even fourth season's DBZ finale doesn't change anything. We had plenty of flashy battles in Sailor Moon or Precure series.
Also, the most mature episode of FiM series, namely, "The Party of One", was aired back then in Season one.
