That matchmaking takes more than your MMR into account.

It might seem that way because most games the MMR is evenly spread but at higher MMRs I'm sure people have started to notice larger and larger gaps. You might think be thinking oh, "but a 5k player with a bunch of 3.5k players would more likely win against 5 4k players so matchmaking takes that into account!"

But we've seen games where 2 high MMR players have really similar MMR (100-200 difference) but the gaps in their teammates can amount up to 1-1.5k. Doesn't this sound ridiculous because those same exact players could be reshuffled to lower that gap?

Sort of like how in LoL, lower ranked players could be ranked with higher ranked players due to the higher rank sucking lately or the lower rank performing really well yet not winning much.

Though this seems to only apply to 5k and above.

just by looking at the scoreboard u might think that a reshuffle will result more balanced mmr lineup.
u did not consider the fact that there might be 2 or more players in party which means they must be grouped into the same team, hence rendering the best possible grouping impossible

besides that there are other minor factors such as language preference (if someone has a diff preference than u it's more likely they will not be mm-ed to the same team as u)

today i played i game, in the enemy team they had one 4700mmr and his mate 3200mmr. and both win/lose the same amount of points after the game. why? shouldnt the higher player get less / lose more?

everyone in the game win/lose by the same amount. The higher mmrs are already penalized by having lower mmrs in team than in opponent.
