Random matchmaking vs mmr tier matchmaking for unranked in General Discussion

I was thinking does the matchmaking system in dota 2, where we actually match new players with new players is actually helping these new players improve. As a dota 1 player, i rmb vividly losing badly and being flame by almost everyone for the first few games. But in the process of observing(dota is amazing, you take notice of things subconsiously) people who actually know what they are doing, i actually learn more things and quite fast i can say. But in dota 2 where we match newbies with newbies, they dont get to learn from their teammates or enemies through observations. I wonder if this is good... But i know a lot people dont like the idea of playing with new players. This is not a suggestion, just a random thought.

I would like to see a new player playing against a stack of 6k mmr guys, and see if he ever plays this game again.

Really? Dota 1 community grew despite the fact that there was no tier matchmaking. To make things worst, there was no tutorials. I entered the game not knowing what is last hit, what are items, how to pump skills effectively, or even that the purpose of the game was to down the throne. I played against random players(if its random, then there is a chance i will be up against 6k mmr stack as you said. Of course there was no mmr in dota1, but i am simply saying ppl equal in skill with 6k mmr guys). Lose terribly for wks, get flamed in game, get flamed in lobby. And yet many friends just like me continued to play the game. As we played and watch ppl who know what they are doing, we copy them. At times we ask question, and some nice person will answer and we learn.

But if newbies were to pair with newbies... Everyone is going do the same noob shit, its hard to learn through observations in this case. And when a newbie gets better, he might even start to think wow i am so good, i am owning everyone. When in fact he only owned 2k ppl. Then he will progress to 3k thinking he is 5k. And you can see this generates even more anger and qq threads. Ppl like me who play dota 1 with randomised matchmaking, we have seen how pros play, we have lost agaimst pros. We know where we stand and hence really seek to improve. Precisely because we have no 2k bracket to own.

Of course this is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree. Just wanted to make my stand clearer
