I used to abandon all the time before ranked, though it was often cus I was afk changing diapers lol. My kid was under 1 at the time and would wake up screaming a lot. All it did was put you in that low priority, and there wasn't that much difference between low and normal back then.

I abused abandon system before the patch that came few month ago.
(you could have abandoned multiple times in a low and still no low priority for 4-6times)
I used this to save time on already lost games that could have took another 10more minutes.

well, if you start to play sidelane/roam pudge for the first, you are destined to get flamed by your team and makes you abandon
or start to practice noobvoker for the first time.

3 out of ~163 games. One of them was a winning game and I had the highest KDA in my team. I was marked abandoned just because I was AFK for a few minutes. The other two were due to my fragile network.
