How does "Top player ranking" for individual heroes actually work? in General Discussion

The calculation it uses to determine player rankings is confusing to me. I ask this because there are people up on the list who played 30 games with a hero 6 months ago, have a lower win rate and kda than I do (at like 200 games), and yet there they are, up on the leaderboard. My only guess is that they won their games against people who were much higher mmr than I, but I've looked at quite a few of their profiles and a lot of them have games played WITH ME..

I know that at the end of the day its just a pointless list, but I'm still a little miffed.

to be on top for heroes u also need to be up there in top players aswell ..... someone could have 80% winrate on a hero but play in 2-3k pub vs someone in 5k+ mmr with say 70% winrate obviously this player would be alot better ... on my main my Treant is like 85% winrate after like 40 games but im still not on there even tho my KDA/Winrate is higher then most of the top 50

u have to stack alot and u get there

I think you have to have at least 30 games in a very high sill bracket with a 60%+ winrate. Then of course this evens out depending on the winrate to games played ratio.

So a guy with 30 games and a 77% winrate would be 2nd
and a guy with 150 games 65% winrate would be first.

KDA may have something to do with it as well.

stop making up random theories Hael

It has to do with dota 2 DSR......

Never said it was the answer and I said I think and it may. This is what I think it is from observation, so I think it would be a hypothesis more than a theory. DSR is just an empty term for idk.
