pretty much, i had people who cant speak english and cant even lasthit, they spam their stuns n shit on the creeps oO
In other modes people often don't know what to do with a limited hero pool. So they pick a hero they are unfamiliar with, be it his abilities/play style/item making.
I think I have about 50% winrate in SD,RD,AR mods or so, because often games are made up by people like sven who doesnt level cleave untill lvl 18 vs naga. It happens.
@The Terrible: you do have a point, but I'll have to disagree since this is not about being unfamiliar with - it's about level of gameplay. If you watch the replay I posted (you don't need to - I'm just saying) - you will see CK kept autoattacking inlane (aka grounding) and didn't level up Reality Rift (he chose for crit), TA grounded a lot too and managed to be raped by me mid (there's no way a potm wins a TA mid in a fair duel)
from my experience
custom game with unfait bots > ap > single draft > cm > captains draft > that shit with 20heroes
The only playable mode for me now is -ar. In all other modes often get a complete noob team...
Even in captains mode there are noobs who leave if the dont get the hero they want (like sb, drow riki etc...) when i do the picking.
actually i think cm is the best , most of the people there know what to do but it fucking takes hours for a simple game which isnt fun if you solo queue :)
honestly if you don't even see what joke games the majority of non -ap games are
then it probably doesn't even matter for you
and if you speak about solo queue MM (chosen as a preference) every fucking game is a joke
probably doesn't help if you queue Australia or South America
Another thing that can happen is that because there are less people queuing for those less-popular mods, the MM will have to give you a match with higher difference in ELO. So if there is you with 56% and few other other people in pool, it might not have 10 people near your skill. So it will put you with potentially enemies of MUCH lower skill, because the other team will have such descrepancy as well OR will have full party of enemies with skill of average of yours.
Just yesterday I played cs:go and our party of low level scrubs had 1 guy really high in level. It matched us up with full party of skill of average skill (i.e our skill+our guy with highest skill/2). Obviously we lost, so I think that what might happen here.
Idk, even through SA level isn't that high, whenever I play anything aside from AP, I get matched with clueless people.
For example: people complaining about killsteals (not dagon or laguna blade ones, I'm talking about ganks and counter-ganks).
Also, some guy always abandon.
Nahh, not really a stack, most of the times I play duo with Chester and he invites random people from his friend list :P
I'm starting to agree. I used to go single draft to make the game a bit more diverse from the same old Riki, Drow, Pudge games over and over again. All Pick doesn't seem to be too bad these days in terms of that happening and the quality is much better than single draft which seems like first time players every time. Think I will take it out of my search list.
what the people are complaining about has nothing to do with the potato bracket
it's about high skill ranges due to fewer people queuing for less attractive game modes than -ap
if you play in the "normal" bracket on eu west you should actually not be affected by this at all
obviously people will however be a lot more familiar with their heroes when they actually pick it and be less inclined to give up or blame their hero

I constantly get matched with, or against people who are COMPLETELY out of my level range when playing any mode other than AP.
In AP sometimes matchmaking is retarded, but in other modes it's insane. You guys feel this way too? Is it because there are not enough people searching for these modes? (PS: solo queue)

Chaos Knight for some reason didn't level up Reality Rift until I begged him to do so. At 30 min he had a treads + bracer. Wisp had no idea of how to use the hero properly.
