This one game where our carry afk farmed when we were ahead and then eventually we lost because the enemy team had three carries whereas we only had one, and he flamed me for telling him to just finish the game already.

I hate to break it to you, but he was probably right. He just needed to farm up to 600 or 700 gpm and become invincible. If you made him and everyone else push to end and it didn't work (which it didn't), you would have most likely been better off using your great advantage to farm as a team - their jungle, your jungle, the lanes, rosh, etc. Then, you'd have an invincible carry + tons of extra disables like sheep sticks etc.
There were several times when we teamwiped and could have pushed down rax but didn't because he was our only source of damage and he went off to jungle. Too many carries think they absolutely NEED end-game items before contributing anything and end up costing games, I think.
my name comes from playing SB / huskar rambo-style, charging enemies into their base less than 10 mins into game, and life breaking into the enemy 5 man 1v5, etc
