Its honestly hard for me to say but dotabuff simply pulls the data from the Valve API and has some rules in place to better place the data however because of the nature of how games are recorded some do slip through the net. I would just live with this and maybe in time the team at dotabuff will be able to work out mismatched or no recorded games differently to more accurately reflect what it is in the client.
The DotA2 client could also be wrong as well as neither of the systems are perfect and well...you will again just have to go with a few games in either direction.
It is my understanding that if you were to leave a game it would count as a loss if you were the one who abandoned.
If you leave after someone else has abandoned provided it is in the parameters of the conditions set it will go to no stats recorded.
If you stay in a game to completion, win or loss, I think you run the risk of having it recorded even if the game says it wasn't.
This is just from what I can gather and you may want to hunt around the dev. forum to see if some of the Valve developers can shed some light or already have. Also I understand that reddit is the place to be for a lot of your Q&A's.

Hi guys,
Some of the games I have in my record aren't counted as losses in the game client due to someone abandoning early (message appearing that stats will not be tracked), however, they are counted in the record in Dota buff.
Why is this?
