This is what 43% win rate on 400+ games means. It means that 7% of the games there was no way to stack the teams hard enough in your favor with the players available in the que that they could carry you to a win.

This is what 65% win rate on 1500+ games means. It means that 15% of the time it is not possible to come up with a stack strong enough to beat you....because players that good simply are not in the que at the time of the game.

A simpler way to say it...about 1/6 games Swiftending team is the best currently playing in western Europe by far. 5/6 games some other team is close enough that its a fight.

"Btw 2 years Dota experience does not mean he knows what he is talking about" Well, he has a bigger winrate than you and not a single lose streak, he is definitely better than you :^).

That's how you get significantly over 50%...it means sometimes your team is the absolute #1 stack in the que...for the 5 min or whatever it took to get the game anyway.

When that happens you get placed against the #2 stack in the que...and easily beat them.

This is why people who play all the their games on Australia server have absurdly high win rates....very few people are there. So there are plenty of times available when being #1 doesn't require much.

This is why you will sometimes see arguments over which server is toughest. Because people know that being the #1 team of the minute on different servers means different competition.

                Oh, ok. Thanks, man.
Also, why are people still commenting on this? I've already solved my problem by not caring, knowing that the lower the win rate, the lower ended the pubs are. I mean, I've already tested this and it works. Five carry team versus a normally picked (you know, with a support and a tank) aaaand the carry team wins the game. Now that's real fun.

MM does not force anyone to win or lose a particular game. It just forces you to prove every game the you deserve your current rating.

Because it is a team game it is extremely difficult for one player to be so amazing that they alone cause a team to win. So acquiring a very high MMR as a team with a stack of 5 good players is very different from acquiring that same MMR by playing alone. As the MMR system develops it self-calibrates...and stacks of players achieve ratings so high that no single player could achieve them. So when you play alone you can't maintain that score...or even if you can...maintaining an MMR means 50% win.

The only way to stay above 50% win permanently is that no one is above you. Every game you play against the 2nd best and win...or at least defeat 2nd best more than half the time. The odd thing is who is 2nd best changes all the time because of who is in the que. Even if you were the highest MMR in the que last game, maybe someone higher qued up this time and now you are heading into a game against a team far stronger than you.

If you are not at the top of the current ques MMR then you will get very close to 50% win over time...unless you are often the absolute lowest MMR team in the que. In which case you will end up significantly below 50% and stay there.

I know there are some relatively talented people who lose more than win...but they do have low MMR. That is what losing more games does. Usually people in that position are doing something that consistently makes them lose. All the examples I can think of...player who are skilled at using their hero but lose...are people who throw games, by being drunk, by going afk to talk on the phone, by getting mad and feeding, by having a terrible internet connection, feed late game fountain diving all the time, never try to take towers, etc...

If you are losing more than winning and think you are doing everything you can to win, then you are either slow of mind and finger, or just don't understand how to win games. When your MMR is low, and you have lost more games than won...better players are placed on your team than the other team. If you still can't win with that advantage, your "handicap" is increased until you are the lowest MMR in the que. And if you still can't win, then you just end up far below 50%.

Lost a game with 23-4-15. Had Butterfly, Boots of Travel, Desolator, Mjollnir, Assault Cuirass and Demon edge (for MKB) :) But that was my fault too. Should have got BKB.
