Yes, but not as long as you. It appears to be the result of going into the que when there are not 9 other players with your server, language, and mode selected close enough to your very high MMR.

As I have illustrated in several posts before there are not enough Diamond rated players for 10 to be available to play all the time. The major US leagues had the same problem in Dota 1. They set up elite matches that only the top few % of players could use. This did result in games where everyone was highly skilled and experienced...but it also made the que take much longer since only a few people were available to play.

I am most familiar with the case of dotacash. There were 250,000 accounts and about 10,000 in Tier 2, but never more than 6 simultaneous Tier 2 games and every day there was a period of times with no games at all because ten qualified players were not available. That period of time was typically 2-3 hours and could be as many as 6 hours.

I'm sure something similar happens with the solo que for Dota 2.

In the team matching, they have just been balancing top players with an equal distribution of lower MMR players on each team so the match would be found more quickly.

as much as I dread the longer queues.. judging by my last 4 games I am pretty much under the impression I should be avoiding the MM unless I am queuing with friends.

Wise words. The solo que while seemingly a great new addition, seems to a magnet for feeders and baddies. You defiantly want to find good people to play with or really wanna say find a new game, that is unless your muted. Valves management of this game is a joke. Language select does nothing, matchmaking I would wager does a worse job on average than a first come - first serve lobby. And than there is the mob control report system, which offers the sensitive little emo kids retribution for being inferior. The game they copied/borrowed/stole whatever is well done, everything else they add on their own initiative is a steaming pile of dog shit.

For me solo MM looks exactly the same as normal one, except people actually use english. We still stomp and get stomped constantly, even in high bracket.

Now that you mention it, it does seem like alot more english. Guessing the russians haven't noticed the option yet.

Normal Find Match still the best option to play. Much less time waiting and have less noobs...
Anyway i think there should be a better MM System, i m playing some games that is REALLY EASY, like 5 begginers at the other side. And i m playing some games that is hard as hell against closed teams.

I m not complaining about MM system only, i think the system is not the only problem over here, there is a lot of BM players that dont give a shit for the game or just have some accounts to fuck with anothers game, there is the strongest reason of some shit games.

I hope they get a way to punish this guys, also low priority should be more often.

i can wait 20minutes to play with/against 4/6 russians instead of 9
