I know they likely are I would just like to know a comparison :P because my friends with 79% + on here are still ranked the same as my trolly noob self
if you play exclusively with the same group of players your ratings will never deviate from their initial separation value
Daggius I really enjoy your reading comprehension <3
You answered exactly the question I was not asking :3
in Dota 2 Client, go Watch tab/Recently/Filter/ Enter your name, at the skill level, choose Normal/High/Very High, u will see the result.
I'm Platinum and I get into very high games only. I think if you're in the lower spectrum of platinum, you will be in normal games. I have a couple of friend who are in the 1500-1600 range and they play in high. The only time they get into very high is if they stack with me. The way I think it works is if you are bronze, silver, gold or just barely passed for platinum, you will be in "normal" skill level games. If you are in the mid range of platinum, you will be in high. If you are in the higher spectrum of platinum and obviously if you're in diamond, you will play in only "very high" level games.
OMFG
No wonder i feel there are noobs every game! I'm playing at only high level
wtf is this shit!!!!!!!!
never gotten a very high game -.-'
btw I'm platinum 96% with 1793 dbr ---> that is to say the relation of DBR to ingame skill is BAD (valve)
stupid valve associating me with crappy players... No wonder i get bored
One thing I know for sure is that...
If you are in bronze or silver, it's a miracle if there's a courier. If you are in gold, they probably will get a courier, but it will stay as a slow-small-cheesy chicken until 20+ minutes. You will probably get the occasional ward here and there, but that's about it. If you are in platinum and you are around 1500-1600, players actually care more about lanes and how they work. A chicken will definitely be bought and wards will be placed somewhat. If you are higher than that, expect everyone to know their roles and have more knowledge when it comes to higher level of play.
I was pretty sure the replay brackets are in no way related to an ingame- or the dotabuff rating.
I always thought they were just for categorizing replays based on gpm/xpm etc

Wrong
I'm silver, and in every damn game we have courier/fly and wards. blocking pulls with wards and counterwarding etc.
Usually because i'm the one doing all these lol
hehe might be, But it still says 1133 on my page, I wish it got updated though. It told me that i'm a below average player. So i still count myself as a silver scum untill dbr gets updatd (which never happens sadly) :P
well said, ShaolinMilk. Im in complete agreement with you for all ur comments. Keep winning then eventually you will be in very high level game. I used to play high matches a lot. Now i start to screw around and only play normal game haha. DBR still shows im 79% platinum though but i probably dont deserve it.
I really can't find the correlation here also. If I'm not wrong, I've read from somewhere that this guy who has a 97%, only get into high games. Me being 95%, all the games I solo-queue gets into very high. So.... I really don't know also. But who am I to say, I'm just a typical pubnoobie. This shows that the system actually varies, how it varies though is what people is currently trying to find out. That's all the info I have to give you. Good luck on your search.
Its not even bout winning, you must just have impresive hero performance for the game, im absolutly sure. Winning does give a boost. By hero performanec i mean kda ratio mostly to be impresive, compare to others in team. IF you all own, and you own, thats not impresive. Imprsive is if your team all 1-7, you are 30-2-7, and your team gets victory. Few games like this will jump you whole skill lvl.
i am always in very high MMR, except when playing with my friends, and it happens to have a farming kotl on my team, with a deadalus, mkb, etc..
also i had that day a chen who went 24 min in the jungle and never got out of it..
however next game he was against me and he wasnt a bad player, but rather a gd one..
so sad ppl try to play heroes which they cant play, bunch of retards, go train with bots..
i got 1859 DBR, with a percintile of 97%
maybe they just dont care to support you, if they end up in game with lesser players, and lesser players claim mid. So they go woods, and laugh at you crying.
Well, my DBR is 1597, i play very high games all the time, and im always solo.
3 of my friends got dbr over 2k, they play very high games only and only if they are in team, if they play solo, they end up in high or normal bracket.
So... In my case DBR is not that precise :)
lol noobs saying that DBR isn't precise is very amusing to watch. whenever I play solo or as a team, I get very high queue and my DBR is 2005.
i dont think dbr is even tracked anymore, i think its static ever since they made stats private by default.
Max.Ly LOL. Ever thought that's where you might belong? you played almost 1000 games with a 46% win-rate and you say gold bracket isn't good. That's a real laugh.
It's sometimes not a matter of effort but a matter of skills!
huehuehuehuehue/ lol ty for acknowledging my skillz. why don you man up and admit your noobness rather than being sarcastic and pussy. jesus brazillians these days
ive noticed using the people commenting here that the dbr is irrespective of matches played while dota mmr is related to matches played as well. Seems people who are commenting with relatively low dbr and high amount of games played still play very high whereas people with high dbr but fewer games might not be playing very high or very high consistently
seems that 400 games + might be a time where a player goes from high to very high, could be more could be less
I think that winning against higher DBR players in game compared to the lowers one for a few games in a row would guarantee you in a higher skill bracket.
I'm 1420, but I play in high bracket when I solo que. I have many unnecessary losses due to my really noob, real life friends that I group with a lot. It's fun to atleast play with them though
ZeXius first of all, this nick is for trolling/sarcasm purpose, same like you felt for it.
Second of all, nevermind.

So what's up with the ingame ranking? (Normal/high/very high) because I play with some friends and 3 of us are platinum and the rest of us are gold (all above 60th percentile up to the 70 something percentile I believe ) and not one of us is in high/very high. Would anyone happen to know where a cut off is made between the ranks. I know why I'm not in ( and never hope to be ) high and that's because I just troll or random heroes I can't play :P
If some people from high / very high shed some light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated
